I'm freezing!

Don't know about you but the past couple of weeks I just can't keep warm. The snow in our back garden is still as thick as it was the first day it snowed, so it just proves how cold it's been this past week for it not to melt..............does look pretty though.

Using my son's laptop as we've at long last taken our sick computer to be fixed, hoping to hear from them tomorrow. Might be a case of cheaper to buy a new tower and quicker. I don't like laptops, just can't get the hang of them.!!!

Just to let all my Bramford crop challenge girls know I've finished my frame, I am getting ahead of myself even made a start on the book, well glued some pages together.LOL

The above photo is of our cat Guss as you can see he likes the cosy life!! He's as darft as a brush he loves chasing falling snow and will sit in the pouring rain, we think he might have been dropped on his head as a kitten! He is a lovely cat though, turned up on our door as a stray 3 years ago, vet reckoned he was approx 5 years old at the time. He's a big old boy too, massive great paws.

Naughty but...............................

Went to Papermaze crop on Saturday had a lovely day with my crafty friends. Vanessa opened the store room(shop not open yet........soon though) and now everything has 65% off, so I stocked up on bazzill cardstock, mainly shades of green. I did a naughty and have just placed another order for some papers and cardstock...............prizes for Bramford crop monthly free prize draw.
I worked last night, 12hr wake night shift. Been to bed today so had some sleep, head now feels fuzzy. Hope I sleep well tonight.
Have you seen the new Sunday night mini series 'Call the Midwife' ? I enjoyed last weeks, will watch last nights tonight, so looking forward to that.
Having a sort out in my craftroom.....yet again! Trying to get it more organised and less stuff left on the floor. Hope to do some crafting too this week. Saturday off to Create and Co crop which I'm looking forward to as I tend to get more done there, probably cos I don't natter quite so much.
Craft show next week to look forward to aswell.

War Horse

Went to see the new film by Steven Speillberg WAR HORSE today..............a great film but if you are an animal lover it'll bring tears to your eyes. Just proves it was'nt just the soldiers who were brave in the First World War, the horses were too. can'nt wait for it to come out on DVD now. If you go to see it just take a tissue in with you!

Family Meal Out

Friday already, where has this week gone as I don't seem to have done anything apart from work and housework.
Went out for a family meal last night at the Thrasher on Ransomes euro park, to celebrate Aaron's(DS1) 21st birthday which was on the 4th January. We had a lovely meal, you certainly get your money's worth the food was lovely. We had a lovely time and it was nice for all 3 siblings to get together and have a laugh.
Computer woes, we've decided to see if it's worth have this one sorted out or just go and buy a new one..................will see at the end of the month. Will no doubt go for Windows 7 instead of XP. As Tim has his own laptop and Emily her own netbook and Aaron does'nt live at home it's just Andy and myself who uses our computer, so no clogging up the memory with all the kids stuff. I do miss not being able to upload photos at the mo' cos the XP won't let me, infact as I said in an earlier post it's shot to pieces, gone on a long holiday and not coming back.LOL
Working tonight, it's my fortnightly Friday sleep-in. Tomorrow is a free day, no crops to go too will seem strange. The next 3 Saturdays will be crops.....yipee.
Well, I've finished off my ironing, the house is clean so I think I'm going to go and do abit of crafting. I've a couple of layouts that need titles putting on them...............

Need some time to craft

No I do have some time to craft really but just can't summon up the inspiration. I think it's because it was my weekend at work and with the lack of sleep over the past 5 days my brain is dead.LOLHad the Bramford crop on Saturday, well supported as usual. It was an enjoyable day, I did'nt do any scrapping just chatted and caught up with friends. Got the Papermaze and Create and Co crops to go too this month so will get stuff done then.
I'm going to have a cardmaking marathon sometime soon too, to use up all those odds n ends I save.
Should be going to a Creative Stitches and Craft show at Bluewater on the 2nd Feb, not too sure if we'll be going to Ally Pally this April, the boat is still out on that one. Don't need anything(!) but a crafty day out will be nice.
Well now got to brave Asda to do the fortnightly shop, oh what fun.

We near the end of 2011

Where has this year gone?! I'm sure I shut my eyes the 1st January 2011 and woke up today 30th December.LOL Well that's what it feels like.
Hope you all had a lovely christmas, ours was quite quiet...........not the same now the children are older. I had to work Christmas night so I wanted a chill out day . I only got a couple of crafty pressies, a 12x12 deep frame box, a lovely set of Tim Holtz stamps and some bakers twine. I was pleased with that as I'd only asked for the frame. What do you get a crafter who has most things and who needs to use up what they already have????My paper stash is going down, but oh what will the new year bring, I have been thinking about a stash diet and for how long I could stick to it.I shall do my best NOT to buy anything in January as we intend going to Bluewater craft show in February(it's normally at the NEC), not that I'll need anything.
I'm catching up on all the DT stuff I've to do, I've done my January L/O for Scrapbook Sisters monthly blog challenge(check them out, address at side of this page). I've also been asked again to do a L/O and a card for the Docrafts Creativity mag in March(Jan issue now out) using the new Papermania Portobello Rd range of papers, ribbons, stamps etc...........these are quite nice papers, so check them out. I've still to come up with the Bramford crop kit for Feb by next weekend.
I've had a bit of a sort out(yet again) in my craft room and decided to sell my Cuttlebug. I've a Big Shot and find I tend to use that more now.
Still can't upload any photos. My nephew reckons my Windows XP is the problem, it just is'nt working and has pinched all my files and disappeared with them.................will be taking to the Computer Dr in the next couple of weeks.

Computer woes!

My computer has decided to play up and won't let me sign into my account, will let me sign into the pc Administrator..............but that's no good when 99% of my stuff is on MY ACCOUNT. Got to wait until Wedsnesday when my nephew will come round to try and sort it out. To make things worse I can't even get into the control panel as the bar for that has disappeared too!!!!! I never thought I would miss things to do with a computer as I'm a real Techno Phobe.
Spent the whole day with lots of friends at two different crops(yeh I know I'm greedy) scrapping.
In the morning I went to Papermaze crop, Vanessa opened the remains of the shop for awhile so we could all get some real scrappin bargins( thanks very much for my stuff Vanessa), then in the afternoon it was onto the Create and Crop at Martlesham where I stayed until nearly 9pm.
Over the course of the day I managed 4 layouts and some lovely makes and takes at Create and Crop.
Some exciting news this week in that I've been asked back to do another feature in the Docrafts March Creativity mag. They've sent me some really lovely Papermania Portobello Rd products, which is new for January(see their mag due out 3rd Jan). It's geared up for the Olympics and really great for any photos you've taken in London or for making cards for men. Can't share any of my creating with you, you'll just have to buy the mag in March!
Are you ready for Christmas? No nor am I. Loads of presents still to wrap. A couple still to get including Emily's birthday which is this coming Thursday.........my baby will be 17yrs! Aaron will be 21yrs January 4th, where do the years go?
I've several scrapbooking bits to get done this week inbetween working 4 night shifts(in over Christmas), dentists, finish off shopping etc. I have done my design team work for Scrapbook Sisters January Scrapbook Challenge, so was quite pleased with myself.

Well my friends I'd like to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas, hope Santa is good to you and leave you something crafty.

Catch up Week

Been out to Papermaze today helping to pick orders in their 50% off sale, after the fire they had at the beginning of November. It's amazing how much some crafters are spending, especially so close to christmas! There has been some great bargins to be had like the Martha Stewart punches, Tim Holtz sizzix dies.............as you can imagine these were the first things to be snapped up. I've treated myself to a couple of American Craft Albums and some thickers, so been very reserved.LOL. Tuesday it took me TWO hours to pick a 4 page order!
Had a catch up week this week as I'm on holiday from work and don't go back until Tuesday night.
I've made some special christmas cards for my crafty friends, made my secret santa pressie, started on my challenge pieces which myself a 5 crop friends set each other each month, done the layout for the Bramford January crop kit and helped at Papermaze for two days aswell.............so all in all I've had a productive week. Tomorrow I need to get some housework done then I'll spend some time getting things ready to take to the Scrapagogo crop on Saturday. I'm going to be organised for once and only take what I intend doing.
I'm also intending to get all my christmas cards written over the weekend, so I can get those that need sending sent. We're off to Lakeside on the 7th December to get the christmas shopping done, it's a nice day out and they have a nice Range store on the retail park.

Cropping Tomorrow

It's the monthly Bramford Crop tomorrow, only one more left to go for 2011. This year has flown by. Is it 7 or 8 weeks 'til Christmas this weekend.?! I've started my Christmas shopping, got a few bits for my 3 kids stockings and ordered Aaron's main pressie online as it was so much cheaper that way.
Sold my old Digi SLR camera on ebay last weekend, I'd never used it properly...............did'nt understand the instructions..LOL so have now bought myself a new Nikon Coolpix digi camera from Argos which was half-price, it came today, is alot smaller and so much lighter. I had a quick play snapping pics of my craft room. Instructions look alot easier too.
I've also ordered a sewing machine to be used at the crop, I like to see sewing on layouts and cards, Karen does some lovely examples so I'm hoping she'll give our croppers a demo!
Next Saturday I'm doing a tabletop sale so hope to sell some of my handmade cards, then the next Saturday I'm doing the local WI's Christmas Fayre, so hope to sell a few more.
Well must go get things sorted for tomorrows crop, not sure what I'm going to take to do, never normally get much if anything done...........just chatting!

Stash Sorting

Over the past month I've been having a good sort out of my stash in my craftroom, which I might add is packed to the rafters! Shamefully I might add, you know the stuff you bought because you might use it! I've managed to sell bits on via ebay, UKS and the Bramford crop. I'm off to Create and Crop on Saturday so hoping to sell a bit more. I've made lots of cards of late as I've got two table top sales I'm doing in November. This has meant I've managed to use up papers, embellishments etc that I've had for awhile...............still has'nt made much of a dent in my stash hoard though. one card I made last week is the photo I'm showing with this posting. It's made from the left over scraps from the Bramford crop November kit Graphic 45 Magic of Oz, I must say I am quite pleased with the result and just proves what you can do with left over scraps.
I had a sad email earlier to say that Papermaze in Otley had a massive fire yesterday which looking at the local papers web site has destroyed a lot of the building and stock. My heart goes out to Vanessa as she definately does not deserve this, thankfully no one was hurt.
Well I've tea to start and a pile of ironing sitting there looking at me.LOL If I get it done today I can then spend some of tomorrow crafting.

Sneaky Peek.

Over the weekend I have been working on two layouts for the Bramford Crop December kits.
Di from Crafts and Candlelight gave me the new Prima Printery collection and the very latest Kaisercraft Bonjour collection to work with. I had a good look at both lots of papers and decided that in each set there was a sheet that could be used to make your own embellishments, so out came my scissors and I set to work on lots of cutting. That'll keep the ladies busy for awhile at the crop on 10th December.LOL................some won't thank me! So apart from the papers the only other thing I used was glue and 3D foam pads to give some dimension to the layouts. I was quite pleased with both results, though the photos don't do them justice even if I do say so myself. Kaisercraft is the fisrt photo.
This afternoon I've also finished off 3 layouts that just needed titles, so all in all I've been quite productive. I'm more pleased I've got the crop layouts done well in advance so I'm not chasing my tail.
It's a night of telly tonight, Strictly Come Dancing is on at 7.25, then at 8 it's the X-Factor(just want to see who's going home), then it's Downton Abbey.

Scrapbook Sisters Design Team

What an honour, did'nt take long for me to reply and say YES PLEASE. As you can see I'm slowly trying to sort out my blog, it's trial and error as I'm not sure what I'm doing.LOL I'll get it sorted properly one day.
Been card making today. Made a couple of christmas cards and a couple of birthday cards. Have'nt done much craft wise this week, though I have been in my craftroom every day................tried tidying it up, moved a few bits around and it still looks just as bad. Will try again tomorrow.

The aftermath of a visit to Ally Pally.

Well yesterday I was up nice and early as it was our September trip to Ally Pally. I picked Liz up at 6.30am then it was onto Karen's to pick her and Nancy up. We had a good drive down to Wood Green London arriving just after 8.30am. We get there early so to get a good parking place, infact we were right outside the front entrance due to having Liz's disabled badge. I'm glad I did park there as I went back to the car 3 times during the day to unload what I'd bought. I stocked up on card stock which is flipping heavy! We had a fab day as usual, bumped into Janet and Ang who went by coach. We ended the day in the park opposite AP eating cupcakes with Shimelle, SJ and several other crafters. The cupcakes made by Shimelle were scrummy.
On the way home we made our customary stop at Mcdonalds in Chelmsford. Got back into Ipswich around 8.15pm. I'll post a couple on photos of my stash purchases, looks like I spent loads, but I did'nt and managed to get some good buys. I also made a beeline for the Craft Stamper stand as I wanted to take up the subscription offer of their new Scrapbook mag hitting the shops 18th November, see photo. It's called Scrap 365.
Well I've new stash to go stroke.LOL several Rubbernecker stamps to mount, I love that stand as you get unmounted sentiment stamps for 50p each, what a bargin! I've amased quite a collection over the past two years.
I'm on holiday from work this week so I intend spending some of it in my craft room. I want to make some more cards, christmas aswell as other occasions.

Ally Pally here we come!

It's that time of year again when our twice yearly trip to Ally Pally in London is now only one week away. I've got a small list with odds n ends on it I'm hoping to get. So early next Saturday Liz, Nancy, myself and fingers crossed Karen will be on our way. We always have such a good day out with our customly stop at the Chelmsford Mcdonalds on the way home.
Tomorrow it's the Papermaze crop, I'm on a working wake 12hr night shift tonight, but will still go to the crop, will need nudging about mid-day as I'll have that glassy look in my eyes.............give me half an hour and a coffee and I'll be fine...............I'll just crash out on the settee at home in the evening. I've been going to Papermaze crop since 2006 and still thoroughly enjoy it as it's a very friendly crop and along the way I've made some good friends too.
Did I tell you I've started to make my christmas cards? Made about 60 so far, had a bit of a break from them and will start making more in the next few weeks. I've a week off work the end of the month, so apart from having an autumn clean in the house I intend spending time cardmaking.

Have a good weekend, mine will go in a blur until Tuesday as it's my weekend in work, so with lack of sleep............................

Christmas is coming....LOL

Emily had her Yr 11 Prom a couple of weeks ago and here she is in her finery. She looked so lovely and grown up. Her friends came to our house and were picked up by a huge Lincoln Navigator 4x4 limo................what with the girls and the limo out the front of our house it gave the passing motorists something to look at.LOL
Cropping tomorrow at Create and Crop at Martlesham, I normally get several L/O's done as none of my real scrappy buddies go to this so I do less chatting. I aim to do at least 4 L/O's.
I'm on holiday from work next week and intend crafting part of it. I have good intensions to start making christmas cards!!! I started cutting card ready today.....................got two new rubber stamps from Lili of The Valley christmas line today.
Next Saturday it's the Bramford crop, a longer one this time finishing at 8pm for the harden scrappers.

No enough hours in this week!

Well the Papercraft Show that I've organised for this Sunday 17th is fast approaching. I've done most things for it now thank goodness, just odds n ends left to do. Tickets have been selling, so that's good news and hopefully lots will turn up on the day. We have some really good stall holders coming along so there should be lots of lovely stash and demos to tempt everyone. I'm just hoping the stall holders have a good day............................
Had the Bramford Crop on saturday, another good turnout. Papermaze crop is shifting a week so will not be on this Saturday 16th but the 23rd instead, I'm pleased as I've last minute running about to do on Saturday so I'll have more time instead of running round like a headless chicken.
Emily has her yr 11 school leavers Prom this Thursday. The Limo is leaving from our house so plenty of photos to be had, I can't wait. Doesn't seem possible my 'baby' is 16yr, where does the time go?. The photos above are of Emily in her trial hair and dress run for her prom.....I made a boob and published the same photo twice.....still trying to get the hang of this blogging with photos!!LOL
The LO is one I did for the kit of the month at the Bramford crop. I was meaning to show you the one I did for Papermaze crop last month.

Busy Crafting

I've been busy the past few days card making, trying to use up some of my stash.........has'nt even made a dent in it but hey ho I'm going my best. Off to Papermaze crop tomorrow and my aim is not to go to the shop as I don't need anything as I've lots of papers in my stash supplies without adding to them.LOL
I need to go on a stash diet for the next year really. I've sold several unwanted bits n pieces of late on ebay. it's free listing this weekend so I'll be listing some more bits..........like those rubber stamps I bought cos I really liked them , but have never used them and am hardly likelies to either.
Are we scrappers compulsive buyers? !
Tomorrow at the crop I aim to do at least two layouts done, I might achieve it as I think only Janet and myself will be there in our little group so not so much chatter though Janet and I still do our fair share..LOL
Well I'm off to work in a while , I'm doing the sleep-in but that means nothing if buzzers are going off all night. 9pm-8am.

Bad blogger

Oh dear, where has the last few months gone?. I did'nt realise it had been soooo long. Life is busy.I work 3 nights per week( 12 hr shifts) and what with a family, home, crafting time etc........................excuses I suppose.
Just realised it's chucking it down with rain outside, typical as schools out in awhile.
Tomorrow It's the crop I run each month, we're a week later as my god-daughter got married last week, she looked stunning and I got lots of lovely photos. I'm going to make her and her husband Daniel a 12x12 page and frame it in a deep frame box....my task in the next fortnight. I'm going to have to learn how to upload my photos on here so I can show off my L/O's. Got an updated photo of my three children aswell, I say children, A is now 20, T is 18 and E is 16yrs so young adults really, but still my babies.LOL By shear luck and pressing a few keys I've managed to at long last include a photo on here, not exactly where I wanted it to go but hey ho it's a start.My computer learning skills very basic.............I know how to buy online...he he he.Infact I've two parcels awaitng my attention.
Right I'll post this and see how the photo pan out, then I might add some of my other photos..........have a great weekend.

It's Snowing!

As I sit here typing this it's snowing. Our village always looks so pretty when covered in snow and I always have to wander round and take photos.............not today though I'm staying indoors as long as possible.LOL
Went to two crops over the weekend. Saturday I went to the Create and Crop and managed 4 layouts(I'll have to learn how to upload them on here) and yesterday I went to the Your Creations crop day at Henley nr Ipswich. I was chuffed to bits as I actually won a raffle prize.My tickets were first out the hat and I chose a Martha Stewart PATP set kindly donated by Vanessa at Papermaze.
I've also had some other creative good luck . I entered Cardmaking and Papercrafts mag Cardmaker of the Year comp and came 3rd in two sections, Cosmo Cricket(prize has arrived for this lots of CC goodies) and the Stampin Up section, still waiting on that prize. So all in all had a good couple of weeks..................should of bought a lottery ticket.LOL
Well Christmas is looming fast.............only bought stocking filler pressies for the kids so far. We're off to Lakeside sometime in the next fortnight, to do the bulk of the shopping.........still waiting on families christmas lists. Andy and I are buying a new Blu-ray DVD player with surround sound between us as there's nothing we really need. I think the only crafty thing I've asked for this year is a 12x12 deep frame box.
I'm still debating on buying the new Spellbinders Grand Calibur of Sizzix Big Shot Pro..........probably end up with the Calibur, it's alot cheaper and would get more use.........think I've answered my own question there.
My craft room is now complete with the Ikea expedit storage system.................I now have storage around all walls.............just need to sort my stash out to a workable system. I'm getting there slowly.
The Bramford Christmas crop is nearly upon us, Saturday 11th December. I've been sorting out the prizes up for grabs, lots of lovely goodies.
Well the hoovering awaits so I'd best go get that done.

Ally Pally

Well not long now and I'm off to Ally Pally with Liz, Karen and Nancy. My shopping list keeps getting longer, so hopefully I'll beable to tick some if not all the things off it as I shop through the day..................hey once the cash is gone it's gone but I'm hoping like last time I come home with some left over cash.LOL
What gorgeous weather we've had the past few days. Middle son now has his own car(his first) and today the insurance papers arrived so he's been to tax it and he's now trying it out for the first time too..........he's had to wait since last week so he's off. A great photo oppotunity once he comes back, for my next scrapbook page.
Well now got to do the fortnightly shop at Asda....................ugh!!!!

Oliver!

Spent the day in London yesterday...........well when we eventually got there that is.LOL
Decided to drive down to Newbury Park station, park there and get the central line into London..........NO PARKING SPACES LEFT ,so onto Gants Hill and hey guess what they don't have any parking. After driving round a few side streets we managed to find a FREE park all day space.Five minutes walk to the station and we were on our way. Got to Leicester Square just before midday. Got tickets to see Oliver as Wicked had sold out.(£200 for 4 of us, I nearly choked but Andy dulily coughed up the cash!) Pizza Hut for lunch, which was very nice and then over to Westminster to get tickets for a boat trip on the Thames, something we have'nt done in London before. After that we went onto Harrods to window shop.LOL By now we were hungry again so it was off to Shafsbury Avenue to find a Mac D's. Bellies full again we then wandered up to Covent Garden until 6.30pm when we then crossed to Drury Lane to the Theatre Royal.
Must say those £50 tickets were good as we ended up in the upper circle so had a very good view.
Russ Abbott was Fagin and brilliant at it too. It was a very good show, one we've wanted to see since Andrew Lloyd Webber had his BBC 1 to find Nancy show.Going back in October to see Les Mis. Andy's choice not mine.
We got home just before 1am this morning, totally shattered.
On the crafting note, I took a little trip down to Ikea at Lakeside a couple of weeks ago and treated myself to 2 of the Expedit shelving range...............thoroughly reccommend it for any craft room. I've now had a good sort out and rearranged my craft room with wall to wall storage and at long last floor space. I'm selling some of my unwanted storage so once that's gone it'll cover the cost of my new storage.
Saving now for Ally Pally at the end of September, I will be driving down again in my car as sadly Ang won't be coming. Starting to compile my to look for and hopefully buy list, thankfully it's not very long. I must visit Craftwork Cards, Lili of the Valley, LB Crafts and Sugar and Spice, oh and Capture the Magic..............I like to see what goodies they have.
Well it's lunch time, the washing machine has finished(3rd time it's been on today) ironing needs doing and I'm hoping to get in my craft room.

The Downward slippery slope to Christmas...aahhh

It's almost August and that means Christmas products will be appearing in Asda and the likes.This year I'm going to really try and start making my Christmas cards earlier......................LOL
Well it's been over 3 months since I last blogged though I do visit other peoples blogs every day so no excuse really.
Lots gone on in my neck of the woods. I now have a new job with permenant hours in a lovely small care home in Ipswich, which I've been at for 2 months now, working nights which suit me and the added bonus I can take my craft stuff with me and craft during the night. How good is that.
I handed in my notice at the Council home in April and my other 3 mornings a week job I leave at the end of this month. Means I should have abit more time to myself during the day.........crafting time. The new care job means every other week I'm working full-time, tho' working it at night doesn't seem like it..............I'd hate to work full-time during the day, so feel very lucky I'm doing the job I love and the hours that suit me. I also work with some lovely people.
Aaron my DS1 lost his job a couple of months ago, but thankfully now has another one which he loves and suits his personality as he's a social animal.
Tim DS2 passed his driving test in June, first attempt so my car doesn't spend long in our drive at the mo. He wants his own car, but we've told him to wait awhile.........it cost enough to put him on my insurance...............sold his motorbike last weekend so that's two car wheels bought.Ha!ha!
I now have my shed back so I've a little job of sorting it out.
Emily DD is coming to the end of her work experience. She's been at a local(the one I went to years ago) Primary school with the year1's and has loved it.Hubby's still doing his job be it part-time, but hey it's a job.
Went to Papermaze crop yesterday(been going there for over 5 years now) and actually completed and I mean completed TWO layouts..............this is a first. Even more unbelievable when I went to the GoGo crop last month I completed SIX, yes I did say SIX layouts. I'm desperately trying to use up old stash and am atlast succeeding slightly. It's sooo hard with all the lovely new papers that keep appearing on the shelves at Papermaze. Yesterday I just had to buy the lovely Echo Park range.
Now I'm hoping to have more time to myself I'm hoping to get lots of scrapping done, I've an album to finish for Tim by September as he'll be 18 on the 10th.
Well lots to do, washing to hang out.......where has the sun gone!?

April already and one week to Ally Pally.

Can you believe it's the 1st April. I've spent part of the day making cards................it's about time I started using up that mountain of stash in my craft room.,infact I've spent quite abit of time over the past week in my craft room making cards. My goal is to try and not buy shop cards for the rest of the year.........this I've said for the past couple of years and not managed it but now I'm well on my way.
Good Friday tomorrow, we'll go to the in-laws for our traditional fish n chips. Had to have it at home last year because mum-in-law was in hospital having a knee replacement(bit inconsiderate of her.LOL)
Saturday it's the Bramford crop and it looks like it'll be another good turnout.The following Saturday is Ally Pally and as Ang and Carol won't be going this time(they're off to an altered art weekend in May) so I will be driving and taking Karen, Liz and Nancy. I'm soooo excited and have made a small list of stuff I'd like to get.
School holiday has started. I honesty have always loved the kids being on holiday, means not having to be up before 7am every morning and some days I can still be in my dressing gown at 9am! We can have a proper meal at lunch time rather than at tea-time, though I bet they'll moan.
Emily has Gang Show all next week, so it'll be busy running around. The following week we are decorating her bedroom, so she'll be sleeping in the dining room that week, the problem is where to put her wardrobe etc while were're doing that. The bed can be taken apart..................
Well hope you have a lovely Easter, fingers crossed the weather is kind to us.

It's been snowing again!

Yep this morning the good old white stuff started to fall again, but all it done was made everywhere wet. I did love to see it before and after christmas and to see it last for a few days was better still.Time for the camera to come out, don my pink wellies and a walk round the village......heaven in my book.
It was the Bramford crop on Saturday and a very good turnout too, so much so I've ordered two more cropping tables to seat 4 more people, well with NSD on May 1st I expect the crop to be bursting at the seams. We are very lucky with our crop and have a super bunch of ladies who come along.............did you know we've just celebrated our 2nd birthday, doesn't seem possible it was 2yrs ago I started the crop where has the time gone?? It's been an enjoyable 2yrs so here's to the next 2.
QVC have a 7hr craft day starting midnight tomorrow night and the TSV is Martha Stewart punches, I'll be staying up to order mine. The price is going to be very good and one not to miss.
I'm trying to save for Ally Pally which is in April. Sadly my buddies won't be coming this time. Ang and Carol are going to the Artsycraft weekend in May, Janet has a new grandchild on the way, Angela has other committments and as yet Karen's unsure what she'll be working. Mcdonalds Chelmsford will not be the same without you all.LOL..........here's to September Ally P.
Haven't done much scrapping since Christmas, but have started to sort out my craft room.Last week I spent two days giving it a go and my desk looks alittle clearer, shame the floor doesn't. I need to get in there and finish it off this week so I can get some scrapping and cardmaking done and I'm trying to use up old stash before Ally P.
Got to go start cooking tea soon, something with yesterdays left over chicken. I've to work tonight so I'll leave at 9.30pm, be home by 7.15am tomorrow. Will go to bed once Tim and Emily have gone off to college/school.
I prefer working nights to days a 9hr night shift goes quicker than a 9hr day shift.

Christmas is a comin'.............

Afraid to say christmas will soon be upon us and I'm quickly running out of time or energy.LOL
Had quite a fruitful day so far. The tree is up, decorated and the lights are twinkling in the early evening darkness. I like to put the lights on when I get up in the mornings while it's still dark......looks so cosy while I drink my cup of tea!!!!
I've also written most of the christmas cards, just a handful left to do now. I've changed the linen on two beds and hoovered up from top to bottom, surprising what you can do when you put your mind to it.
My aim by the end of the week is to have finished the cards and wrapped all the presents, just got a couple left to buy tomorrow......did the rest last week at Lakeside shopping centre.
Had a great Christmas crop on Saturday in Bramford with over 30 ladies attending. Will be off to Papermaze crop on the 19th, so that's to look forward to apart from I'm at work that night as well as the Sunday night and Monday morning...busy weekend.
Emily is now starting to get her christmas tips from her paper round....last year she got over £200! I think she might buy herself a new flat screne TV for her bedroom.
Got an interview on Thursday at the residential home I work nights at as a relief carer. Silly I still had to fill out an application form and have to have an interview even tho' I've been working there over a year...fingers crossed I get permenant hours so I can then give up my other part-time job.....would make things easier for me.
I've still some christmas cards to make for my special friends, that's to be done by the 19th.I've ideas so that helps.LOL

Two weekends of fun

Hi folks.Yep this Saturday is the Papermaze crop which I have been going to now for about 4yrs. I always thoroughly enjoy it, don't do much scrapping but plenty of chatting with my lovely mates. Also means a trip to the Papermaze shop and no doubt I will be tempted into buying something even though next Saturday we're off to Ally Pally. Yes 7 of us will set off at 7.30am and arrive home exhausted but happy about 9pm. Ang will take her 'bus', so thanks for that Ang she's a real star, especially as she has to put up with Jekyll and Hyde as her navigator( aka me). The others are Carol, Karen, Liz, Janet and Angela. We always have such a great day with a much needed stop at the Chelmsford Mac D's on the way home........last time they didn't know what had hit them as 7 crazed women sat down to eat.LOL
Worked a night shift last night, glad to say it was a good one and the 9 hours went quick. Had 2 1/2 hrs sleep this morning and I'm now full of the joys of spring.......bit deluded there.
I now have my own craft room, as Aaron has moved out so I'm now in his old bedroom, which is downstairs so idael. If he decides to move back home he'll have to evict me.LOL
Well I'm in desperate need of a caffeine fix, been drinking it all night so you'd think my veins would be well topped up.............got to get some LO sorted out for Saturday. I've at least 6 that only need journalling on which I printed off yesterday so I'll finish those later. I'm desperately trying to use up my old stash.....gave me a chance to have a sort out by moving into a craft room, so now have several things to sell.

The holidays are nearly over...

where has those 6 weeks of the summer holidays gone! Thursday Emily is back at school and starting yr10. Tim will be enrolling at college( he'll be 17yrs next week), Aaron missed out on getting into university, so intends taking a year out and deciding what to do, luckily he has a full time job to tide him over. I feel rather deflated with life at the moment, I don't really know why....it'd be lovely to say sod the lot of you and disappear for a few days....my dream is Florida and yes I would go by myself, sounds so selfish but hey we all have the erge at times but not all of us admit it.
Anyway it's the Bramford Crop on Saturday, so I've that to look forward too, then the following Saturday it's the Bromeswell Crop, the 3rd Saturday it's Papermaze and the 26th it's the long awaited trip to Ally Pally, so September Saturdays are fully booked.I'm actually sorting out some LO's to do on Saturday. I've also started a list of things to look out for at AP.
Got to go pick Tim up from football training soon. He sold his moped last week and is saving up for a 125 motorbike.......more worry!
I'm buying my friend Carol's large Artbin wheeled tote, I think at long last I've found a tote that serves my need for lots of space as I never know what to leave behind when I go to a crop. This tote I've filled with everything I take, all I need to do now is pay Carol for it. LOL....that's more cash for her Ally Pally stash shopping.

Should have been the Bramford Crop today but had to change it to next Saturday as my cousin Sian got married today and my daughter Emily was her bridesmaid........and gorgeous they both looked to.
Strange really as Sian's mum Maria was my mum's bridesmaid(they're sisters), I was Maria's bridesmaid and Sian was mine and now Emily is Sian's.......I took loads of photos so will be up at Asda tomorrow or Monday to sort out prints.
The rain held off long enough for photos to be taken.The wedding was at the beautiful church in Hadleigh. Tonight we're off to the reception....great I love a buffet and I'm starving LOL.
Will have plenty to scrap at the crop next week and Papermaze the following. I'll have LO to do but I also want to do a brag book each for Sian and my Auntie Maria.
I've actually been scrapbooking this week. Think I've completed 5, yes 5 LO's of Aaron New York trip he went on in April and of my nephew David's wedding from last year....I get fed up with doing all of one subject so like to alernate from one to another or 3. I hope to get alot more done in the coming weeks as I'm trying to use up my stash ready for restocking when we go to Ally Pally in September......trouble is my paper stash is about 3ft high !!!! I mean it and am not joking, I just love paper. There's some lovely new stuff been on show at cha..Jillybean Soup, Cosmo Cricket, Sassafrass to name but a few.

Where has the time gone?

Didn't realise it was the beginning of May when I last blogged!Can't believe we're nearly into July.Someone mentioned christmas cards last week, ah my friend Liz when we took a ride out to Capture The Magic. I always have good intentions of starting to make christmas cards from July, but each year I get to November and think I'd best get a move on LOL. I'm really going to try this year, I say with fingers and toes crossed.
I've been doing alot of rubber stamping the past couple of months and watercolouring them with my lovely Caran D' Ache pencils(blame my mate Carol for getting me onto them) they produce such lovely results and you don't have to be a fab artist either. These images I'm getting done so I can have a couple of days making a batch of general cards.........I've got all the stuff just got to find some me time to do them. Me time has been harder the last few months what with working two part time jobs and having to catch up on sleep as one of them involves working wake nights and sometimes only having an hour spare before going onto my other part time job. Sympathy votes here please LOL
Took a trip out to Papermaze earlier................bad mistake as I bought one of the new EK Success border punches, very similar to the Martha Stewart punches(that's a laugh as they're made by EK too) but a smaller design, so great for mini books cardmaking etc.
The weather today is gloriously hot, lets hope it continues, odd cos Wimbledon is on too.
Treated us to a new computer desk from Staples yesterday, so have had a good sort out and Andy didn't moan about the desk, so it must be OK. The Scouts have taken the old one as they've got their bi-annual auction on Saturday to raise funds to keep their mini bus on the road.
I must stop now as I've just been asked' are you doing any tea?'

NSD

Well we celebrated NSD at the monthly Bramford Crop on Saturday. It was a full house with 34 of us scrapping. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, at least Sue went home this time with a happy friend beside her as Dawn won a prize LOL.Next crop 6th June, which will soon come round.

I was up at 4.45am today as I did a boot sale at Foxhall Stadium, got rid of lots of stuff and made a bit of cash in the process.Thanks to Karen(Barker) for dropping by with a cup of coffee and to give me a pee break......bliss LOL.
I hear on UKS WHS are now selling Scrapbook Trends mag, so I'm off to have a look tomorrow.I'm hoping to catch up and get sorted one or two little jobs that need doing during this week, I'm hopeful. I could do with tidying up my craft stuff....yet again. It semms to keep spreading outwards and I don't know how to cure it, have less stash maybe, no that's dirty talk.
Well I need a coffee and then it'll be off to bed, yes I do go to bed on a coffee. Iknow I drink far too much of the stuff, and apart from stash it is my biggest weakness.

Ally Pally

Well Ang, Carol, Karen, Janet, Angela, Liz and myself set off at 7.40am for our long awaited trip to Ally Pally. The sun was shining and the journey there quite straight forward. AP was packed not just with lots of lovely goodies up for grabs but with people, this was the busiest I'd seen it in about 4 years and the heat inside was stifling too. I bought lots of lovely goodies and was well chuffed. I think we were all impressed this time and all had a good spend. We came away at 5pm when the show closed all shattered but very happy, sat on the steps had a group photo and then loaded into Ang's 'bus' for the journey home. We had our customary stop at McDonalds Chelmford, were we ended up in fits of laughter and funny stares from other customers. We arrived back in Bramford at 9pm.......must say a BIG THANKS to Ang for kindly driving us all there and back.
I had a good look at all my purchases this morning and was surprised at how much I'd actually bought! Lovely card stock and papers, nesties, inks, alot of lovely rubber stamps....you should check out a new company called www.littleclaire.co.uk her stamps are gorgeous.
Well tomorrow my son Aaron is off to New York with Suffolk College until Friday. It was his 18th birthday pressie from me and hubby. He went last year too and this last week I finally finished srapping his photos. I won't be going to bed until 3.30am tomorrow as he's to be at the college before 3am!!! Motherly love or what LOL.
As alot of you know I'm an avid Ipswich Town football supporter and today we played Norwich at home, sadly Andy used his season ticket so I didn't get to go, very inconsiderate of him me thinks.......well Ipswich wiped the floor with Norwich...he! he! he! bragging rights are ours. Even better news Everton have just knocked Man U out of the FA Cup semi finals, even bigger Ha!, Ha!, Ha!
Well I've a huge pile of ironing to wade through, so must stop now.

Long Time no write!!!!

Well it's been awhile since I last blogged...where does the time go? It was the April Bramford crop yesterday and another good turnout. The May crop is National Scrapbooking Day so they'll be lots of prizes on offer...so hopefully Dawn will win something which will save Sue's ears on the drive home LOL. Emma a Stampin Up demonstrator came yesterday and did a demo for us. Thanks to those of you who placed an order and thanks to Emma for the demo.
April 18th, Ang, Carol, Karen, Liz, Janet, Angela and mtself are off on our twice yearly jaunt to Ally Pally...Ang kindly drives us ( and I drive Ang with my Jekyl and Hyde driving, tho being a passenger.....you'll only know if you are with us !!!!) all in her bus........which Trevor, Ang's partner call a menopausal womens day out LOL. We always have a good day, so am so looking forward to it.I'm making my list and have a few things on it.
This week I've only to work Monday morning, rest of the week off as hols, so I've big plans to sort out my craft stuff and to make some cards and scrapbook to..Big ideas I know.
My oldest son Aaron needs prompting to get onto Ucas and submit his Uni place exceptance for Southampton.......a lovely uni with so much to do for students.Then it'll be sorting out his grants etc, which I must say seem quite daunting.He also passed his driving test last month, so I keep loosing my car!
Just looked outside, it's getting dark so I've been on here longer than I thought...my hubby reckons I'm an addict, me never.
Well bloggers, hope you all have a good week, lets hope the weather lasts for Easter....I'd like it too as I want to do a boot sale to boost my Ally Pally funds!

A Happy New Year and where has the past 3 months gone!

A Happy New Year to all you bloggers.Hope you all had a lovely christmas and that Santa was kind to you all with stash!!!! We had dinner and tea Christmas day at the in-laws which was great as I was working Christmas night 10-7am Boxing morning(I work as a relief carer in a local home for the elderly with Dementia). The past 3 months have whizzed by and I'm sure I've missed most of it, well that's how it seems. Andy my DH has been working in Belfast these past 3 months coming home at weekends, which has meant my twice weekly drive to Stansted Airport, which I can now do with my eyes shut and cruise control on the car!!!!! Then I also work 3 mornings pw at a sheltered housing complex, private carer 3 mornings and 3 tea times pw for a 90yr lady, also my relief night shifts miexd with taxi service on tap to 3 teenagers oh and housework......you can see why I've lost 3 months and haven't blogged for 2 months. Andy has now finished in Belfast and is now offically unemployed and reckons he's going to be a house husband....yer right over my dead body!!!!He can have a couple of months off getting those jobs done around the house that I can't do then it'll be time to job hunt.
DS 1 Aaron is 18 tomorrow, it doesn't seem possible, I remember labour like it was yesterday.He's not having a party as we are paynig for him to go to New York in April with college.
The Bramford Christmas crop on 13th December was again well supported with over 30 scrappers attending. I am so pleased this crop has taken off and our ladies keep coming back month after month(so thank you to you all) I was alittle worried when Ang said go on start up a crop.....the rest is history. We have such a lovely bunch of people who make the crop such a huge success, with a warm friendly atmosphere.
Ang and Diane(Crafts and Candlelight) kindly bring along their shops each month. Diane's shop next to Lumberjacks on Bramford Rd has had a big makeover during the christmas break, with new shelving and a big move round it's well worth a visit(open Tues-Sat).
Well DS 2 is now pestering to use the computer, so I will say goodbye for now...............Janina xx

Hasn't the past month flown by! It was crop day in Bramford yesterday with 29 scrappers turning up, next month the Christmas crop I expect one or two more. It's great to think people want to come to our crop month in month out and I thank you all for making it such a friendly fun event. Next months one is on 13th December and has lots of prizes on offer.
This week I start a new job as a Relief Carer working all night shifts at a local Elderly Residential home. By the end of the week I will be shattered, so roll on Friday.Next week things should have calmed down......well just a bit! My DH Andy has two weeks left working in Ireland, but it could be four weeks then he's out of work, reckons he's going to be a house husband.....yeh right, me thinks he'll soon get feed up with that. I reckon it'll be the new year before he finds a new job when things on the economy front settle down. I'll be doing two jobs so at least we won't be in each others pockets....it will feel strange as he's worked away from home for the past 13 years and ever since we have been married(20 years now, god I could've committed 2 murders and been out on good behaviour!!!!No he's lovely really....well most of the time) he's worked shifts.......
Yesterday at the crop Suzy kindly made her Malteser cake for us, which I confess to eating two pieces and Heather(her cakes are amazingly scrummy) made butterfly buns and I ate 3 of those!!!!!!Funny thing I don't normally eat cake except at our crop and the one at Papermaze, then I eat a months ration. Well vegetables are calling to be sorted for lunch. It's roast pork today.

Another good crop

Well yesterday was our Bramford Crop. 28 of us turned up which was another very good turnout, so it looks like we are doing something right. We have a great bunch of very friendly ladies, young ladies and a young gent who support us each month, so thank you to you all for making it s success and well worth the effort each month. I must say a BIG THANK YOU to Ang who has kindly producing a monthly kit of the day and aren't they worth the wait?! She's a very talented lady who under estimates her work, as her LO are amazing. Ang has also managed to get some lovely papers for future kits so watch this space. Thanks also to Suzy for making the scrummy Malteser cake, to Tina for the sausage rolls to to who ever it was who brought the jam doughnuts. Lastly thanks to Leona, Sue and Rachel who kindly helped me clear up at the end.
The next big event is the Scrapbook Fair at Hintlesham Community Centre next Sunday 12th 10-4pm. Ang and Diane will be having stalls there, so if you can visit it's normally a good event.

Next Bramford Crop 1st November and the Christmas crop 13th December, hope to see you there.

A fun weekend

Well yesterday was our trip to Ally Pally. With everyone loaded onto Ang's bus we set off at 7.30am instead of 8am.That 30 minutes earlier made a big difference to traffic and parking.With Liz's pass we parked right outside the front entrance, which when we were tired at the end of the day meant not far to walk with heavy bags. I think we all (Ang, Sheila, Wendy, Liz, Karen, Carol and myself) had a fab day and bought some lovely goodies. I have'nt looked at what I bought yet as by the time we got home last night I was shattered, so retreated to the settee and read the paper!I did buy lots of lovely stamps from the Rubbernecker stamp company, they were soooo cheap and light to carry, unlike Ang who stocked up on paper punches and now has one arm longer than the other !!!
Now for this coming Saturday and the Bramford Crop....10-5.30pm.
The 12th October is The Scrapbook Fair at Hintlesham community centre 10-4pm free entry. Ang will be there with her goodies and so will Diane from Crafts and Candlelight. Others I know Country Creations, Scrapagogo, A Trip Down Memory Lane, The Stamp Hut.....so please support them if you can.
Well I've now got to get the veg ready for dinner...............

I've had a real crappy week that went from bad to worse as each day appeared!!!I did go to Papermaze crop yesterday and am glad I did as the girls cheered me up and that was the happiest I'd felt all week.So thanks girls. I only got half a LO done, but plenty of talking and laughing. Back to Stanstead airport tomorrow morning as Andy flys out to Ireland again until Friday...he said what about moving out there to live......Reggie on the run !!!!Some of the girls will get the joke of that one. I've lots to do this week, including I hope a visit to Thornham field centre at Eye about arranging a weekend scrap retreat for next year so watch this space.....The Bramford crop is looming up fast again...Saturday 4th October. This coming Saturday we're off to Ally Pally, can't wait as it's normally a good day out with a good bunch of friends.

Yesterdays crop was another great success, I think as we have such a great group of people who come along it makes it so, so THANK YOU to all of you. Another big thanks to Ang who did a fantastic job on the KIT OF THE DAY, I think you will agree they were fab.....I've got my name down for next months. Let you in on a little secret, Ang has got some lovely papers lined up for the next few months kits, so watch this space. Also thank you to Ang for bringing along her shop, didn't it look great with the new display stands and lots of yummy new stock and what great bargin prices too. I know I just had to have........ah well no scrap diet for me, trouble is I'm off to Papermaze on Wednesday evening to do Wendy's first class, so I'll be tempted again, it's sooo hard to sit on your hands long enough not to be tempted. It was lovely to see Sue back after her knee op. Congratulations to Sharon(Jackie's daughter) and hubby as she is expecting her 3rd baby, due next March........I saw the scan picture. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lisa & Angelique who celebrate their birthdays today, they spent their birthday money yesterday......don't blame you girls. Hope you both have a lovely day today. Hope Ang is feeling better today as she felt quite rough yesterday and managed just to stay at the crop all day. well must go hope you all have a good week.

No Tim didn't help me set this up, though I'm gonna need help attaching photos !!!!!I still haven't sorted out what LO to do tomorrow at the crop, so I'd best get my bum into gear. Did put my name down last night for the See Through class at Papermaze on 17th September, Wendy is taking it so should be good as I love her work, though I think 3 trips to Papermaze in under 2 weeks is abit dodgy as no doubt they'll be lots of new goodies I just have to have.......oh the will power!There is none.

Yep, I've taken the plunge as Carol kept badgering me and as my technical abilities are that of a snail I've put it off.....but here I am. Getting ready for the all day crop in Bramford on Saturday, just got to sort at least one LO to do. Well I'm gasping for a coffee so must go.
